Our little orchard

It was born last weekend Oct 20 and 21st, an important date! we first went to get them at a nursery nearby, thanks to our nice english neighbors and new friends, Jeff & Jane who helped us bring them back home in their little trailer. We picked them one by one despite Mr L's's supicious look. Mr L. --man of a few words to say the least and simple words at best (with his naked girls calendars in his office:)
And so the weekend was spent planting. Lucian making the holes -- the most difficult job -- and me putting the soil, placing the tree, covering with enriched soil, native soil, fixing the tree to its post...it was a lot of work, but fun and a good workout. The weather was good, cold but sunny, one of those really crisp autumn day. Now let's hope those trees do well and bring us many fruits over the next few years, we've got 3 apple trees, 3 pear trees, 4 prune trees, 2 cognassiers (local species), 1 apricot tree, 3 cherry trees, and 2 peach trees -- 18 trees all together. Yeah, we like fruits!:)

My 20 seconds of fame

Last Tuesday Oct 23rd. Just out of my yoga class (yes I have finally found a class I like although it's so different from what i was used to) i spotted a market on the village square. I went to check it out, grabbed some grapes, looked at some salads and stopped in front of a man selling hand-made wollen sweaters. It was so cold outside, probably around 40 F that a wollen sweater was SOOO welcome. That's when I saw 2 charming camera men from tf1 - one of the main national tv channels in france - who were filming the market. Of course they came by and asked if i would be interviewed. I hesitated but thought that they could always cut it later if i was too bad...they asked about the weather, the cold, the sweater i was buying:) fascinating stuff...it was for one of the very typical french tv segments they do during the lunch hour news every day, showing life in different little villages or cities around the country. And so at 1pm sharp i was in front of my TV, screaming to Lucian come, come watch i'm going to be on TV!! -and of course after having called my parents to make sure they'd be watching too:) and here i was talking about my wollen sweater and the cold temperature, ah, it probably lasted 20 seconds altogether but those were my 20 seconds of fame:)
