Lily at 20 months

Almost one month we've moved back the US and CT. Amazing how time flies! it's finally a little slower this weekend and it is NICE!
Lily's been a little under the weather this past week with a bit of fever - which is now gone thank god! - and some coughing. She still has trouble sleeping at night though and i'm hoping the syrup i got today will help. I have to get to know meds for children in the US which are so different from France. I miss the French pharmacies which are so full of useful meds and advice! looks like there's nothing available for children under 2 around here and we don't have a doc yet so it's challenging.
There have been a lot of changes for her lately, the poor little girl, but i thought she was adapting very well. After an awful awful plane ride during which she wouldn't sleep and went crazy on us for 8 hours straight!! she seemed happy enough around here. Part of it was that she was with us 24 hours a day:) But then she had to get used to child care which was a difficult at first given she had never been full-time and never got fed by anyone else but me before! The first week she wouldn't eat much, would not drink at all and wouldn't poop! (she reserved it for me in the evening or on the weekend- thanks Lily!). She also would cry every time i would leave her there in the am. The second week she ate better and pooped, still didn't drink anything though - we tried 2 different cups but nothing would do it. She cried but less. The third week she did it all and she doesn't cry anymore, horray! but she developed the cold and so that set us back a bit.
She's slowly changing and developing her personality. She loves to play hide and seek and i'm fairly sure says "hiding" "hiding" and puts her hands in front of her eyes to hide. Today she tried putting her hang on my face to cover it but it's so small it didn't do much on my big face:). That was so sweet tough! She also loves to go outside and says "outside" and goes or points to the door. Besides "daddy" those are the main 3 words she says, still no "mommy" happening...oh well. I just hope she starts to talk more soon. She understands so much though so i'm hopeful with my next blog update it will be there.
On the not so fun side of things, she is a challenging little girl to deal with right now - has always been but it seems to be getting worse...Screams and cries as soon as she doesn't like something! adorable whenver she's happy but lately she's screaming A LOT! and it's hard to deal with. And I get upset and start raising my voice too which is so bad and so difficult not to do! And she wants to be in my arms all the time! oh boy! parenting is definitely the toughest job i've ever had! i'm hoping it's the terrible twos and they're going to end early since they started early:)
