Lily smiles!

And it's just amazing to watch her! my heart just melts! She also makes "ahh", "eee", and something like 'booo" sounds and loves when i answer back. She just turned 2 months a week ago and much has changed already:
-First of all she now weighs 5.15 kilos so 11lbs so she's doing really well as her big round cheeks show;)
-She can stay awake in her bed without crying non stop so i can be in another room (what a relief!)
-She eats every 3 to 4 hours so 6 to 7 times a day. The time when i was breastfeeding as often as 12 times a day seem long gone, thank god!
-She poops only 1 or 2 times and we haven't had an explosion in a while!
-I can give her a full massage without her crying
-Last but not least she sleeps about 5 to 6 hours at night which is a major relief and we've transitioned her to her own bed. I was very anxious about that step but we had decided we'd try it when she'd turn 2 months old so we did. The first night went really well but of course that was a fluke and it didn't happen the next night but overall it's not too bad. Of course there are nights when she just wouldn't fall asleep and cries and cries until she finally crashes around 1:30am. And other nights when she wakes up several hours in a row because her pacifier has fallen off but there are the good nights and we're thankfull for those!

She still gives us her daily concert starting around 8:30pm and on and off until we go to bed at 11pm! that's when she cries and fusses uncontrollably. Last night was particularly bad -- she finally passed out in my arms but boy do i hate those moments when she cries non stop! it's so painful for me to watch. I hope this phenomenon is going to go away soon. I hear it's suppsed to stop between 2 and 3 months so i'm praying it's in our near future!

Our little conductor

That's lily when she starts to get upset and fussy: one minute she's sleeping or looking around and the next she starts to move her arms up in the air as if she'd be conducting an orchestra or directing a movie and we know what's coming next...louds screams and we better get the pacifier and take her in our arms or start rocking vigorously or else she's giving the concert all by herself. Things are still tough in the sleep department -- she's not a sleeper like her mom or at least not now. Of course i had to bump into another mom who was in my birth class and who told me how her girl sleeps from 11:30pm to 7am: i'm not about to talk to her again!:) it's difficult to say not having any other children to compare her to but i'd say she's not a mellow baby, i wouldn't say she's not an intense need baby either but somewhere in the middle. She definitely has her fussy hyper moments but usually holding her in my arms will do the trick. Last night both her and i fell asleep after the 4:30am nursing session and i woke up 1 hr 1/2 later with her sleeping on my chest and my arms asleep from holding her. Those moments are so sweet, i can't have enough of them...
